Leading service like Github and Telegram are facing massive Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks that can interrupt service for hours. Such attacks originate from a variety of internet-connected clients, including IoT devices like security cameras and baby monitors. Lately, these attacks have increased immensely in size and complexity.
At this talk, Stephen Lo of Cloudflare talks about the evolution of DDoS attacks and the steps business are taking to mitigate them.
